THE FAITHWALK MESSAGE
FELLOWSHIP DISCIPLESHIP STEWARDSHIP

At the heart of the FaithWalk Ministries message is the conviction that salvation is a journey, not a destination. The Scriptures reveal that our deliverance from sin by the blood of Jesus Christ has implications for our past, present and future:

  1. PAST - We were saved from sin's penalty. (Rom. 5:8)

  2. PRESENT - We are being saved from sin's power. (Rom. 6:22)

  3. FUTURE - We will be saved from sin's presence. (Rev. 21:1-4)

Many people embrace what Jesus Christ has done for them in the past, but fall short of yielding to His present work or His upward call. But His invitation is clear:

"If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." Matt. 16:24

My friend, the cross is a radical thing! His sacrifice demands our own, His offering ours. While it is true that we are not saved by works, it is equally true that we are saved for works.  God has something for us to do. We really are on a mission from God! As the Scripture declares,

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Eph. 2:10 NIV                      (more)

THE MESSAGE

The same God who loves us so much that He would offer up His Son for our salvation has "created us in Christ Jesus" for the express purpose of doing pre-ordained works of service in His name. This is a high and holy calling! God does more than just save you from sin. He saves you for Himself (Titus 2:14).  And because you are His, He has a purpose and a plan for you:

  1. To enter into fellowship with Him. (1 Cor. 1:9, 1 John 1:3) SALVATION

  2. To grow as His child and produce fruit that remains. (John 15:16, Rom 6:22) SANCTIFICATION

  3. To serve His purpose in the world and bring Him glory. (Phil 2:13, Eph 1:5-6) SERVICE

That's the message of FaithWalk Ministries, that God has called each of us to walk with Him, to grow in grace and to serve His purpose. Being a Christian is not about simply taking a leap of faith.  It's about steps of faith. As the Scripture teaches, "we walk by faith, not by sight." (2 Cor. 5:7) It is in the daily walk of faith that God reveals His strength, His presence and His glory in our lives. Consider the following admonition:

"As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving."  Col 2:6-7

Indeed, salvation is only the beginning. From learning to walk with Him we learn to walk like Him.  And the more we resemble Him, the more we reveal Him to the world.

I address each of these aspects of our walk of faith in the sections labeled "Fellowship, Discipleship and Stewardship." Please take the time to explore each tab. As you learn more about God's high calling for your life, my prayer for you is

"That God would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints the breadth and length and depth and height of the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."  Eph 3:16-19 (revised) Amen!
