The
same God who loves us so much that He would offer up
His Son for our salvation has "created us in Christ Jesus" for the express purpose of doing
pre-ordained works of service in His name. This is a high and
holy calling! God does more than just save you from sin.
He saves you for Himself (Titus
2:14). And because you are His, He has a purpose and
a plan for you:
-
To enter
into fellowship with Him. (1
Cor. 1:9, 1
John 1:3) SALVATION
-
To grow as
His child and produce fruit that remains. (John
15:16, Rom
6:22) SANCTIFICATION
-
To serve
His purpose in the world and bring Him glory. (Phil
2:13, Eph
1:5-6) SERVICE
That's the
message of FaithWalk Ministries, that God has called each of
us to walk with Him, to grow in grace and to serve His
purpose. Being a
Christian is not about simply taking a leap of
faith. It's about steps of faith. As the
Scripture teaches, "we walk by faith, not by
sight." (2
Cor. 5:7) It is in the daily
walk of faith that God reveals His strength, His presence and
His glory in our lives. Consider the following admonition:
"As ye
have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so
walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and established
in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with
thanksgiving." Col 2:6-7
Indeed,
salvation is only the beginning. From learning to walk with
Him we learn to walk like Him. And the more
we resemble Him, the more we reveal Him to the
world.
I address each
of these aspects of our walk of faith in the sections labeled
"Fellowship, Discipleship and Stewardship." Please
take the time to explore each tab. As you learn more about
God's high calling for your life, my prayer for you is
"That
God would grant you, according to the riches of his glory,
to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being
rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with
all saints the breadth and length and depth
and height of the love of Christ, which passeth
knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of
God." Eph 3:16-19 (revised) Amen!
